My name is Gretchen Loro (photo left) and am originally from New York, but have lived in Houston since 1977. Our company started out as a resource for ceramics from Italy, specifically, the small towns of Nove and Marostica in the Veneto region of northern Italy, where my husband was born, and where he still has family. To our inventory, we added beautiful mouth-blown glass also from the Veneto region, and eventually broadened our imports to include other regions of Italy.
2006 will be our 8th Christmas season. My sister, Mary Kelly (photo right) and I have wonderful childhood memories of Christmases growing up just outside of New York City. We decided we wanted to help create wonderful magical memories and traditions for families here in the Houston area. My sister's incredible skills as a floral designer and our appreciation, as artists, for originality, good craftsmanship and beauty have helped us create a small oasis of magic all year long.
The mural seen here and which graces the front of our building was painted by Antonio Loro, my husband.
